How To Decide What You Want

There Is No Wagon To Fall From. Only Life!

It’s Independence Day here in the States, and before the heat, BBQs, and fireworks set in here in Chicago where I’m visiting family, I wanted to drop in briefly to celebrate a different kind of freedom with you:

Freedom from negativity. 

Breaking the chains from that inner critic who always seems to be pointing out the downside or using petty phrases like “You’re too [insert negative adjective here].”

Freedom from overwhelm. 

Ditching the paralyzing feeling of always. having. too much. to do. by saying to your to-do list: I see you, AND I’m going to make time for myself today.

Freedom from toxicity. 

Detaching from the false comfort that comes in having others validate your worth, and instead telling yourself each and every day: I am enough.

This list could go on, but let’s stop it right there, shall we?

There’s a heck of a lot of stuff we don’t have control over in our lives. Let’s give the negativity, overwhelm, and toxicity we can control the “Bye, Felicia” it deserves and celebrate the freedom we deserve when we talk positively to ourselves, make time for self-care each and every day, and recognize that we are enough, just as we are.

How’s that for a freedom we can truly celebrate?
