Feeling Stuck and Unproductive? Embrace Slow Progress

Let’s get real for a second.

The last few weeks, I’ve felt like I’ve gotten nothing done. While I know that’s not entirely true, it sure feels that way.

I’ve been doing my best to move forward, but it feels like I’m not getting anywhere. I’ve been spread thin, yet nothing seems to be getting accomplished. If you’ve ever felt this way, you’re not alone!

It’s been a long time since I’ve felt so stuck. It’s not my norm, but here I am.

I’ve realized that September feels a lot like the start of a new year. There’s a sense of excitement and new routines to create. But just like in January, it takes time to ease into the season.

If you’re feeling the same way, here are three things that have helped me find ease and flow during this time.

1. Trust the Process and Accept Where You Are
I’m reminding myself that this phase is temporary. Maybe I’m not meant to be super productive right now, and that’s okay! What’s happening is meant to happen because it is happening. Why resist reality?

Whether you’re feeling productive or not, trust that it’s all part of the process. Practice acceptance, and life becomes so much easier.

2. Focus on What’s Going Well
Even when progress feels slow, there are always things to be grateful for. For me, this includes:

  • Having lunch with a new friend.
  • Snuggling my baby (more than most working moms get to!)
  • Helping my daughter launch into first grade.
  • Spending time with friends.

Try reflecting on your own wins, no matter how small they might seem.

3. Move Your Body and Shift Your Mindset
I’ve started doing 5-minute movement and mantra sequences to help shift my mood. It’s a quick, powerful way to get into a meditative state and activate peace and ease in my day.

This practice has had a huge impact on my productivity and flow. When I’m feeling stuck, these 5 minutes of movement, combined with mantras, make all the difference.

That’s why I created Movement + Mantra: 5 Minutes in 5 Days, a series inside The Movement designed to help you feel better, fast.

Try Movement + Mantra: 5 Minutes in 5 Days
Just 5 minutes of focused movement can do a world of good when you’re feeling off. You can watch the intro to this series here.

This series is designed to get your blood pumping, your mind clear, and your energy flowing for the day. You can use weights, increase or decrease them, or use no weights at all. Each day offers a different movement and mantra to guide you into a meditative, productive state.

It’s available now to all members of The Movement.

Reflect on Where You Are
As you move through this season, I encourage you to take a moment to pause and appreciate what you’ve been accomplishing, even if it feels small. Whether it’s work-related or personal, trust that everything is unfolding in its own time.

Practice acceptance today, and if you’re looking to find more ease and flow, join me for the upcoming challenges inside The Movement.

Thanks for allowing me to be honest with you in this sacred space.

I love you.
Erin

P.S. The Movement + Mantra: 5 Minutes in 5 Days series is now live! Watch the intro here. I’d love for you to experience it.
